What will we do?
This tour begins where you are staying. We will pick you up with our tour van and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway using our access roads (the Parkway is closed in the winter). This drive will show you some breathtaking views of the mountains, rivers, and lakes. We will gain 3200' of elevation as we drive to the Parkway.
Then we will hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Balsam Mountains with long-range views in every direction. We will hike up to nearly 6,000ft of elevation. After enjoying the 360-degree views, we will hike down through a Balsam Fir forest to the tour van.
What's included?
We provide water, trail snacks, and any gear that may be needed. (trekking poles, ponchos, first aid kit)
All you need to bring is warm, comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking.
(We recommend lots of layers! Our destination is typically 15 degrees colder than it is in Asheville.)

We enjoyed a carefree beautiful 5 mile hike with Asheville Adventures that was a perfect level for my 9-year old son and a great way to kick off our visit to Asheville.
