Where to Find the Best Gluten Free Pizza in Asheville?

Nothing screams "dinner time" quite like the smell of a fresh baked pizza. There is something layered within the cheesy pie that calls all of us- well, almost all of us. When it comes to pizza consumption, some face the challenge of finding that pie that perfectly fits their dietary needs. Especially when trying to steer clear of Gluten. Pizza is a saucer full of gluten. Thankfully, Asheville, North Carolina is home to some surprisingly delicious Gluten Free pizza options.

Here are some of the greatest gluten free pizzas in Asheville:

Formally knowns as "Marco's Pizza" this Asheville staple is home of some mouth-watering pies. This pizzeria has been a local favorite for quite some time. They have been voted "Mountain Express Best of WNC" for 9 years in a row! But the real question is, how is the Gluten Free pizza?

One word... delectable.

828's gluten free crust (available as either cauliflower or dairy-free) can be applied to any one of their popular pizzas. For only a small up-charge, you are awarded a 10" gluten free crust. I recommend you pair this crust with their Kale Pizza, you will thank me later.

Only a couple years in, and Pizza Mind Asheville is already making a big name for themselves. This pizzeria and bar is located in a beautiful spot on Haywood road in the up-and-coming West Asheville. This restaurant serves some delicious pizza- including gluten free pizza.

Like 828 Pizzeria, the 10" gluten free pizza crust can be applied to all the pizzas offered. This GF crust has both amazing flavor and texture (something that is often missed in gluten free alternatives).

Give their gluten free crust a try with their Carolina BBQ Pizza!

3. Standard Pizza Co.

When it comes to serving great pizza without all the bells and whistles, Standard Pizza Co shines. Living up to their name, they are straight forward about that they offer. You find no crazy fusion or experimental pizza. They offer a simple menu, but their flavors are anything but simple. Plus they not only offer a gluten free curst, they offer a 14.5" gluten free pizza. You pair this GF crust with their classic pepperoni pizza, and you will be doing just fine.

2. Apollo Flame Bistro

Next on the list is the not-so-secret local Bistro. Apollo Flame has been a staple Asheville restaurant serving locals and tourists alike for many, many years. This homey place also offers some great pies (as well as plenty of other meals!). Apollo Flame offers a unique, thin, gluten free crust that is absolutely mouth watering.

Apollo Flame also has a killer BBQ Chicken Pizza that you should definitely try on their gluten free crust.

1. Asheville Pizza & Brewing

Lastly, when hunting the perfect gluten free pizza, you have to try out Asheville Pizza & Brewing. Not only is this a great place to grab dinner, they are also one of the best breweries in town! Nothing pairs better with pizza than the classic 828 Pale Ale from Asheville Pizza & Brewing. As if it couldn't get any better, one of their locations is actually a movie theater! Dubbed the "coolest movie theater in North Carolina". Grabbing a gluten free pizza, a locally brewed beer and catching a movie is the perfect Asheville outing.
