What will we do?
This tour begins where you are staying. We will pick you up with our tour van and drive up the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. This drive will show you some breathtaking views of the mountains. We will gain 3200' of elevation.
Then we will hike up the Balsam Mountains with long-range views in every direction. We will first summit Tennet Mountain (6040') then we will walk along the bald ridgeline up to Black Balsam Knob (6214'). After enjoying the 360-degree views, we will hike down through a Balsam Fir forest to the tour van.
What's included?
We provide Water, Snacks (Kind Bars), and any gear that may be needed. (Trekking poles, ponchos, first aid kit)
All you need to bring is warm, comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking.

We enjoyed a carefree beautiful 5 mile hike with Asheville Adventures that was a perfect level for my 9-year old son and a great way to kick off our visit to Asheville.
